A day in Nottingham and Derbyshire

Several people in the Nottingham and Derby areas had expressed an interest in seeing me or I felt it was high time I went to see them again, so I set out fairly late around 9.45 a.m. and got over to Nottingham around 11.

My first call was on Delta, the lone indie sex shop that I supply in the city and they had just run out of one of my books, so my call there was well timed.

I now rang around several calls and found myself heading back along the A52 to Derby to visit New Escape. I was surprised to find that Samantha, the boss, a lady whom I thought was a lesbian, at least that was what she had told me, was now quite obviously pregnant and it turns out she is now in a relationship with a man, with the baby due in a month or so. The myriad ways in which human sexuality can express itself never cease to amaze me. A successful sale was made and then I headed back to Nottingham to see Janine of Valentines.

I did not recognise Janine at first, she has had a nose job, but after concluding our business, she introduced me to a colleague by the name of Louise, an attractive former Ryanair stewardess, who somewhat resembles Louise Rednapp. Whether Louise Rednapp would be quite as good when it comes to the service she might provide is however another question. I was left drained yet totally satisfied after a vigourous thirty minute session.

The rest of the day was something of an anticlimax. I visited in turn, Pharoahs of Ilkeston and then Ceasers of Codnor, but Pharoahs were finding the recession has really hit their trade and are obviously feeling the pinch, despite the closure of Liaisons, one of their local rivals and the other one, Candy Girlz, being only open half the time. Ceaser's by contrast was obviously keeping reasonably busy, but the receptionist, Ellie, a familiar face from her time at Pharoah's in Leicester, they are all into ancient history in this neck of the woods, while normally only too happy to spend money with me was out of cash.

I now rang Midland Maidens of Nottingham who have for this week, decamped to Matlock Bath and are now operating from a suite of hotel rooms there. I met Steve and his favourite lady, Angelina at a pub there, but they were finding they had more business than they could cope with and consequenbtly felt no need to advertise. I only wish they had told me that over the phone.
