Two days visiting Greater Manchester, the North East and South Yorkshire

I needed to collect some money that was owing in Greater Manchester, to top up the sex shops of the North East and do some research for an article for Swing Mag regarding the scene in South Yorkshire away from the Attercliffe Rd., where half of the county's adult establishments, be they parlours, strip clubs, sex shops or swinging clubs are located. So I set off on Wednesday the 31st and first of all visited all the shops I had to collect money from in Greater Manchester, with some success, though not as much as I might have hoped for. The recession is biting hard on the country's adult shops, though not as many are closing down as two years ago. I then visited the Manchester Dungeon in Bury, where I had thought I would meet Mistress Ice, but all I met was the man behind the establishment, who also it turns out, runs the new dungeon in Ashton-under-Lyne.

So after picking up some root beer at an importer in Ashton-under-Lyne, I headed across the Pennines to Barnsley and the Executive Suite, the town's lone parlour and to my very pleasant surprise found my old friend Candice, a lady I had not seen for well over a decade, but who despite now being well into her forties, was looking and no doubt performing as well as ever. It turns out she regularly does days at both G.F.E. in Sheffield and a parlour I was later to visit that day and we had a very pleasant chat reminiscing about the past. I now tried Mistress Tanya on the phone, she has now moved from her dungeon just off Sheffield's Attercliffe Rd., to her home in Barnsley, but without success.

With that it was into Sheffield and my first visit to a parlour that is just about to open called O.M.G. The receptionist had last met me some years ago at Piccadilly in Manchester. It is amazing how these ladies move around as I was to find out twice more over the next two days. I took some photos of one of the ladies and moved on to my next call on Paradise Studio. The proprietor was around and he showed me around, what is clearly a delightful establishment, now boasting a V.I.P. suite upstairs and what they call the Office, which is a self-contained even more luxurious unit, where one can stay and enjoy the intimate company of one or more of the ladies for an extended even overnight session. Yet again I had also met a receptionist, who remembered me from elsewhere, this time one of Carl's establishments in Bristol and she pointed out to me I had missed a new parlour her has opened in Stokes Croft, just off the roundabout by the ring road. I must check it out the next time I am in Bristol.

I now headed over to the Penistone Rd. area, where once I had left it to find the two parlours I was there to check out I found was an area now served by trams and with the attendent problems involved in negotiating my way around them. I first visited the location of the former Thai parlour, Thai Visite, which looked as though it might be on the way back, when I had last checked out its location. It has well and truly bitten the dust now however and has been replaced by a regular parlour called Prestige. I also discovered that Candice does a day here every week.

I now tried to visit a new Thai parlour, not far away called Sonsabai, but could not convince the receptionist of my good intentions. I left a book and a card and arranged to come back the following day.

I now rang another Thai parlour, Starlight Thai Massage in the Chesterfield Rd., but the person running it was not around and I had as much luck as I had just had with Sonsabai, so headed home.

The following day I headed off early aiming to visit four sex shops in the North East and then to head down the A1 and revisit some of the South Yorkshire parlours and couple of new ones. I got up to the shops in Darlington, Redcar and North Shields and did my business there. Curiously there are no independent sex shops in Middlesbrough, Sunderland or Newcastle. I now headed down to Barnsley, where this time I had more luck in persuading a lady to pose for some photos. I now rang Sarah at Sugar Sugar Girls in Doncaster, but she had a regular due any minute, so will have to see her some other time.

So it was down to Sheffield again, where I again tried Prestige and Sonsabai without any luck, though I met a receptionist at Prestige, who had last met me in Grimsby of all places and then I somehow forgot to go over to see my friends at Classic Touch in the Chesterfield Rd., possibly because with all the driving I had done I was feeling a bit under the weather. And with that I headed home.
