I decided it was high time I had another day in Greater Manchester so I set out aiming at visiting most of the parlours on its northern fringe. I kicked off in Leigh, where I visited the town's longstanding parlour, Suzanne's. The proprietor, Sylvia was there along with one goodlooking lady and she pointed out she had not been in touch with her friend Lady Louise lately and wondered if I knew whether she was still entertaining. Not having had much joy myself in contacting her I wondered what was happening with her, but she appears to be simply taking a break. I bade Suzanne's farewell and headed over to Bolton. I had little luck in either Arabesque or Pretty Woman of Bolton, but to my pleasant surprise had more in Illusions, which I learnt had had new management for some time, Steve having called it a day when he lost a leg because of diabetes! There I found myself bumping into Paris, formerly known as Porsche, when she worked at the Toucan and a very tasty young brunette called Lexi. After selling them a book, I headed on my way to Walkden and T.J.'s

At T.J.'s I discovered T.J. herself, who I had been led to believe was hardly ever there, but she corrected me, we had a pleasant chat and then headed on to Radcliffe and Gemini, where I had similar luck, though I did learn the proprietor was going to be reopening the Wonder Lounge in Bury within weeks. Being a superb parlour in its day, that impressed me, as it should all other parlour devotees in Greater Manchester.

I now headed on to the Roses Retreat in Prestwich, but they were rewiring that day and they did not even have any electicity functioning, so I now headed on to Middleton and its two parlours.
Here I had an amusing encounter, in so far as I had the address of the first parlour I was due to visit, A1 Orchid, down as 20, Cheapside, Rochdale Rd., so assuming this simply meant its address was now 20, Cheapside and after parking on the opposite side of Rochdale road and lengthy walk to find Cheapside, I discovered No. 20, a detached building, which on looking around it I realised had a pool table in a fairly empty room on its ground floor. It was in an unusual location, the houses all around being residential, but I rang the bell and a lady her dressing gown came to the door. Thinking this was A 1 Orchid, I walked in only to be reprimanded by the lady in her dressing gown, asking me what I though I was doing. "Is this not A1 Orchid", I replied. Only to be told "No, it wasn't." I apologised and wandered back towards Rochdale Rd, where I wondered if the address should simply have been 20, Rochdale Rd and where I had noticed a closed down hairdressing salon. Sure enough approaching it from the back it was clearly the place I should have gone to initailly. I rang the bell and was welcomed in by the boss, Amber. Apparently this row of shops is known as Cheapside Shops! I took some pictuires of Anika and was generally made welcome, though anika was sure I should have gone back to Park Avenue to see her and take some pictiures of her there, some time ago. Something of which I had no recollection! Then again, I suppose I am getting older! After seeling them a book, I headed off to Middleton's other parlour, Salon 38.
At Salon 38, I was made welcome, being shown around and it has certainly had a pretty comprehensive makeover, with decent rooms now. and I now headed into the centre of the city, where I was chasing £70 owed me by The Adult Shop. When I got there however I found the shop shut, and I could understand why, because the street was being used for some television shoot, which would mean little if any business for Alan. It was getting on now, so I headed over to my last call on Indulgence in Dukinfield. Here, the person I needed to see.the boss, Linda had just left, so with that I headed back on to the M60 and home geeting back not too late, though I took a detour into South Manchester to avoid a delay due to some accident between junctions 1 and 3 of the M56.
