Having been kept off the road for over two months because of events beyond my control, it was good to get out onto the road again, though I made the error of not charging my laptop, which I only realised after I was an hour away from home, so I wasted two hours at the beginning of the day going back to pick up a charger. However I had really only lined up four definite calls, so I headed out again and concentrated on those.
I first however stopped off in Ashton-under-Lyne to get some root beer from a firm that imports it from the U.S. and then having dome that I headed on to Leeds, where my first call was on a lady in an area of the city called Halton Moor. I cannot say that Halton Moor struck me as the most upmarket corner of the city, but the lady was charming and agreed to try a one month sample entry promotion. I hope it brings her some business.
Ater popping into the centre and leaving some books at Simply Pleasure there, the other call I had lined up was also in the Leeds area, but this time out of the main metropolitan area in a place called Rothwell, well out of the city to its South East. Here I visited Katy, who sees her clients at a deceptively upmarket terraced house, which she has transformed into a deceptively delightful pad. An ex-parlour lady, who remembered from those times, we had a lovely long chat about the old days and she was enthusiastic about the new design of my website and we had a very productive encounter, before I headed off to the last two calls of the day in Dewsbury.
This started well enough with being given a free parking ticket by a lady who had a lot of time left on it and I then went into Flair and greeted Brian. Then things went wrong. In particular my laptop decided to misbehave and although eventually after a long conversation over my mobile with my webpeople, I got it working again, I was not able to persuade Brian to part with any money and I had a similar lack of luck with Elle at the Office.
And so with that I headed back home getting back around 8.
