A day in Birmingham and the Black Country

We are getting to that time of the year when I am busy in my office most of the time, trying to polish off my latest book or books. This year it is my first national guidebook to escort agencies, which will be followed in the late winter or early spring by my fourth comprehensive guidebook, this time to the north of England, Scotland and Ireland, hence my trips over recent months to such places as Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield and Newcastle.

But I also need to keep an eye on areas of the country where I move my books or where I am checking out the agency scene and so after a long period when I had not been into Birmingham, I decided I needed to spend a day there, topping up the sex shops if nothing else.

I had a few other calls lined up however, so I kicked off by visiting Penny's Tonal Therapy in Selly Oak, one of the city's most reliable parlours. As usual at that time of the day, Diane, the boass, was around and we had a friendly though not particularly productive chat.

I then headed over to Manyana and Rachel, the charming lady who runs this parlour. I had had a chat with her the previous day and they were keen to do business with me. When I rang however they were all busy, so I headed into the city centre and topped up a few sex shops. Then it was back to Selly Oak and Manyana. Rachel greeted me and I was introduced to Kerry, their current star performer, who also happens to be a delightful looking blonde in her late twenties. She took a while to sort out exactly what we needed to emphasise in the parlour's entry, so much so that the time on my parking ticket had run out, and while sitting in the car making a few phone calls, along came a parking attendant, but I then headed off to my next call and thankfully left him to it.

After visiting a few more sex shops I headed over to the Constitution Hill area and Shannon's new parlour, the Erotic Studio. Shannon is one of the city's most reported on working ladies, who has worked all over in her time and though now in her late thirties, she still looks as good as ever. She has been having minor problems with the now Tory council, who seem as fond of the parlour industry as Harriet Harman, which does not bode well for the forthcoming election, though Labour are so far down in the polls, the Lib Dems might even do better than them now.

However she was keeping busy and was as cheerful as ever.

The rest of the day was something of an anticlimax, I visited a number of sex shops going out of Birmingham at one time as far as Bilston, before doubling back to the city centre, where I had hoped to meet up with Crystal, the star turn at Escort Girls Birmingham, and who wants to be on the cover of my forthcoming book, but who was just too busy to see me that day. I also had hoped to meet up with Charlie the man behind a new agency called Darling Escorts, but it turns out it is his wife's birthday and he was devoting most of the day to that.

Nice to think that romance still has a place in this industry, albeit a rather peripheral role.
