Two days in Hull filming for a Channel 4 taster

Having been approached by Renegade Pictures, who have been approached in turn by Channel 4 to do a series of programmes on the adult services industry, it had been agreed by them and myself that we would have a couple of days filming up in Hull. I had already done one TV programme for BBC1 centred around a parlour in the city and I had had a fascinating conversation with Tiffany, who is about to call it a day at her flat in Beverley Road and retreat to a terraced house elsewhere in the city, where she will concentrate on her corrective services. I had thought there was a possibility of getting some cooperation from Eliott of Hull Escorts for good measure, but out of the blue the site had recently closed down, though bearing in mind I have a pretty good relationship with all of the city's parlours, I still thought this would be a good place to visit. I agreed to meet Fiona of Renegade in the Anlaby Road and having set out at 8, got to Hull about 11.30.

Before Fiona turned up, I picked up a copy of the local daily paper, the Hull Daily Mail, that still carries ads for parlours, agencies and individual ladies and was surprised to find an agency I had not been aware of. Nikki was very wary of Fiona, what with her camera and then one thing after another started to go wrong. First I could not get the website to come up on the lap top. When I could it would not go into the members area and for reasons I still do not understand the same thing happened on Nikki's own computer. then I could not get hold of Rob to discuss it and when I finally gave up on Club VIP, I found I had missed Chris at Elegance. Then to cap it all I had a text from Lola saying she could not see me after all.

Undeterred I headed over to Club Ambience where Lola works now. Thankfully, the management here were rather more cooperative and Lola after finishing a session with a client, was happy to talk to us after all and Fiona got her first sample for the Channel 4 taster.

I then rang Crystal Escorts, the new agency in the city, which I had not been aware of. It turned out it was run by a lady called Crystal who remembered me from my time when I used to visit Mystique, where she had started her adult services career. She semed happy to see both Fiona and me that evening and I agreed to ring her at 7.

By now it was about five and there were no other people we could see, Fiona, who had been in communication with Tiffany had lined her up for the following day, as had I for Jane at the Executive Suite. So I headed off to my hotel and agreed to ring Fiona, when Crystal rang me to indicate she was on her way around to the hotel.

When I got to the hotel, I tried to do a bit of work on the laptop, only to discover my hotel room was not in an area where we could get a line. I soon discovered the restaurant was and I have to admit that the Premier Inn was very cooperative in that regard. I then got a phonecall from Crystal telling me that on reflection, she did not want to be filmed at all. I was reminded of the recurring theme of Channel 4 news, when they want to get cabinet members to appear on the show to discuss some current relevant news item and invariably, they have no one free to do so. Ronald Reagan once famously said that the world's two oldest professions, politics and adult services have a lot in common. The "Great Communicator" knew what he was talking about.

I rang Fiona and explained the situation, and told her if I thought I could change her mind I would ring her, but when Crystal arrived, she came with a male colleague, who was the main person averse to the filming idea and instead then concentrated on showing them what I did now and what I could do for them.

After a long conversation with Crystal, she insisted on showing me how well her ladies could perform and arranged for one, by the name of Lucy to come around to my room, later that evening to entertain me. Perky, energetic and keen to please, she turned out to be a first class advert for Crystal Escorts.

The following morning after an enjoyable serve yourself as much as you ilke breakfast, I met up with Fiona, who had been staying with an old friend overnight, in the Anlaby Road again and we headed into the Executive Suite. Jane was her usual charming and friendly self and before long Terri, who had so notably featured in my last major TV appearance turned up. An interesting interview folowed including me selling the idea of the sample entry to Jane and then we headed back to the Beverley Road and Tiffany.

She only has a few weeks to go before she retreats to her home and simply the responsibility of making enough money for herself. She gave us a long interview, but I could not as I had expected sell her on the idea of a sample entry, but it was a good long chat and will make an interesting part of the taster. The only thing that disturbed me was that she was convinced that over recent years drugs have taken a massive hold on the working lady population,not just on the streets, but in the parlours as well, with as many as seventy percent of ladies there addicts in her view. Then again, she thinks seventy percent of men use working ladies. Both of those figures are a good bit over the top in my view. Then again when one is making a lot of money, drugs must be a great temptation. Just think of all those money men in the city of London.

We now headed back to Elegance only to find Sarah not due there until the following day and after no joy ringing two other ladies I know in the city, we headed out of Hull and on our way across the Pennines to our last call of the day, Sue, the lady who runs Angels 4 You, one of Manchester's top escort agencies and a very idiosyncratic one at that. Sue runs the agency from her home, a luxury flat in a mill conversion in the Pennines between Halifax and Rochdale. Like Tiffany, she is a great talker and not so keen on parting with any money, so my sales patter, which impressed Fiona, did not have quite the desired effect,though she will consider it after monitoring how much buiness comes her way from being listed on my site.

Finishing the interview and the conversation around 5.30, I then headed home.
