A day in Lancashire and the north side of Greater Manchester

Needing to get my books out on sale in more locations and due at my first call of the day in Blackburn on Madam Beverley, I decided to firstly head up to Morecambe and get my books on sale at the one sex shop I knew of there and check out whether two other addresses I had were of existing shops.

It turned out they were not, they had both closed long ago, but I got my new book on sale at Sintillate in Queen St. and then I headed off to Blackburn, getting there a bit late, but since I rang Madam Beverley on the way and found she was not in yet, it hardly mattered.

Madam Beverley delights in wandering around her house au naturelle and had a bath while I was talking to her about what I could do for her. Eventually she decided to try another month, this time for her escort alter ego, Tara. However with no money on her, she will pop a cheque in the post, or rather she will get her assistant to do so.

I now visited Simply Pleasure in Blackburn only to find the lady who can make the decisions re buying was on holiday.

I now thought I would pop in on Angels in Whalley Banks, an unusually named stretch of one of the main roads into the town, before heading off to Accrington, where I had just as much luck as I did at Simply Pleasure, the proprietor of the town's lone indie sex shop, also being away on holiday. I tried ringing a new private flat in Blackburn, but by the time I got through to them I was half way to Bury, but at least I have their address for my next visit.

In Bury I kicked off by visiting Arabesque, where I found Janet, one of the two joint proprietors there. I explained the idea of the sample entry to her and sold a book to a couple of the ladies and then headed on to World Famous Babes.

My next call was on World Famous Babes, who are now under new management, a lady called Catherine, who remembered me from her time as a receptionist at the Georgian. We had a successful conversation and I left things that she would check out my offer with her partner and then we would meet again later.

I now popped into La Maison and left them a certificate and a complimentary book, before I popped around and into the Wonder Lounge, where I met one of the two bosses, Sue, who indicated she would think about my offer and discuss it with Tina her partner in the business.

It was now over to Oldham, where I first left some books at the sex shop, Simply Pleasure, before I popped into the Georgian and left them some books. I had a chat briefly with Anne, who was disappointed I had not come at lunchtime, when she would be around, but I indicated I would be back before too long and told her I looked forward to seeing her then.

And with that I headed home getting back in good time. All in all, it had not been a particularly profitable or indeed erotically charged day, but interesting nevertheless and the first of several to the nation's massage capital, Manchester.
