Having been contacted a couple of weeks ago, I found myself travelling up to Manchester to meet Amelia, a reporter who had been commissioned to write an article entitled "A day on the road with George McCoy". I had provisionally lined up six definite calls and two other possible calls for the day all in Yorkshire, in fact as ity turne doubt all in either Dewsbury or Sheffield, after one possible call, a dominatrix in Huddersfield dematerialised.
I turned up at her address in Fallowfield around 9, and then Amelia and I, plus a friend who was acting as her photographer, set out across to the M62 and on to Yorkshire. We rang the first possible call, Mistress Tania of Huddersfield, but while she was very apologetic, she was going to be busy and consequently unfortunately could not see us.

So instead we headed directly to Dewsbury and first called on Stillettos, a parlour that has been around for some time, although now under new management. Amelia and her photographer had a long chat with Bella, a lady who has worked there for some time and who, though I did not realise it until last week, had found advice I had given her many years ago of great use.

We then headed across town to the Office, where we were due to meet up with Elle, the lady who runs the establishment. However, we found the parlour not open and when we rang the number just to check they had not already arrived and had just forgotten to open the doors, we got a recorded message indicating they were going to be shut all day because of some unforseen problem. So with that we headed off to Sheffield and after stopping off at the Morrison's in Catcliffe, our first call on Unit 8, with whom we had filmed unsuccessfully, with Rupert Everett earlier this year. Amelia had a long chat with Les, the boss and was shown around at length.
It was now on to New Cameo, a parlour with a very distinctive webaddress and one that even its longsuffering boss, Geoff, would admit has seen better days. For a long time, it has been owned and was successfully run by Geoff, a former bookie, with strong views on the industry, and who had finally come to the conclusion, he wanted to call it a day and live and take life easier in Thailand. Twice he has now tried to leave the business in another person's hands, but without success and has foundhimself twice now brought back to Sheffield, to try and repair the damage done by incompetent ladies whom he mistakenly trusted to run the business competently. Amelia and the photographer went and took a load of photos, while I had a long chat with Geoff. His comments on the very relaxed attitude of the local police being particularly interesting.
We now headed off to Langsett Road and our last two calls. The first one was on Lady Juliana, a delightful dominatrix, who was keeping herself free to see us from 4 onwards, though it was not until 4.30that we arrived. With her were two of her most devoted slaves and Amelia had a fascinating time, being shown around and then having what Lady Juliana does so well, explained by both the lady herself and her two very devoted slaves.
Meanwhile as we were driving around Sheffield, I was having to explain to Amelia, again and again that all the bullshit we get from the mainstream politicians, particularly the morally outraged feminists, like Fiona MacTaggart or Harriet Harman, was just that, bullshit and should be ignored. Unfortunately despite clear evidence from the experience of prohibition in the United States, and the fact that the police can hardly find any of these mytical hordes of trafficked women, they continue to pour out their lies, just like Senator McCarthy did in the 1950's. We finally popped in to see Sonsabai, Sheffield's lone Thai parlour and a very luxurious one at that. Lee was out but answered a string of questions from Amelia over the phone and with that we were finished.
So I then dropped them at Sheffield's main railway station and then headed home getting back in reasonable time.
