Having already visited South Wales on Tuesday, but still having remaining calls to make in Cardiff and Newport, I set out for Cardiff on Friday morning, getting to my first call at Abygayle's at 11, when I was due to meet up with both Alison and a friend of hers who particularly wanted to meet me. The outer door to the parlour was open and I proceeded to the next door and rang the bell, only to find no one answering. I went back to the car and rang Alison, only to find she had been delayed and would not be in forty minutes or so. I suggested I come back in an hour and headed off to see the people running the Ambassador Suite, whom I had also come down to see. My visit to the Ambassador Suite proceeded successfully and I then returned to Abygayle's. By now both Alison and her friend, a sex worker support officer, working for the council were there and we had a long and interesting conversation, my only surprise being that she was unaware of Rita and Co., the longstanding private flat in Cathays Terrace.
Meanwhile I discovered I had had a voicemail message, which I had somehow missed. Marcus would not be in at the House Ducroix. Indeed it would be shut all day, apparently some problem with his sister, so that ruled out one call I had been looking forward to. Anyway I decided to try Angels - Simply the Best, not the most appropriate name for probably the least reliable parlour in the city, and sure enough when I got there, I found the outer door open, but no one answering when I rang the bell. When I produced their first website some years ago, when they were under different management, I had always entered the parlour from the rear, so I went around the back, only to find to my surprise the alley at the back now blocked by a locked gate. So at that point I gave up on Angels.
I now rang Derek at Escorts VIP and we agreed to meet in Albany Road and having found a place to park, I waited for him. Once he turned up, we popped into a coffee shop on the other side of the road and I got my laptop out, but could not get my dongle to work. It either would not connect becasue there was no signal or when it found a signal told me it was already connected. Eventually in desperation Derek and I visited PC World in the Newport Road and still despite now deleting and reinstalling the dongle connection programme, could still get no further. So with regret I decided to go home and sort the dongle problem out there.
Then the following day at home I found the dongle working perfectly! Bearing in mind the problems I had had at the Retreat with a lousy connection to T-Mobile in the past and even some problems earlier in the week, I think that might have been the source of my problems. Ah, well, that's life!
