A very frustrating day in the East Midlands

With plenty of possible business to do in the East Midlands, particularly in Leicestershire, I headed off early and got to my first two calls in Lutterworth, just as Victoria House was opening. However Sandy, the boss was not around and after waiting a while, I got a text apologising for her absence, due to the holidays and taking care of children etc. Meanwhile at the town's other parlour, Stuido 31, now under new management, I had similar luck, though I feel this was simply due to their not wanting to spend any money on any advertising.

I now headed up to Leicester and first tried Diamonds, where the boss, Dee was due to be there, but agin I had no luck and the same transpired at Hollywood, where I had hoped to meet up with Barbara.

I now rang both Club Classique and Simply Pleasure in Loughborough, but Denise, whom I was hoping to see at Club Classique was not around and this Simply Pleasure did not need any books, so I headed on to Nottingham.

In Nottingham, I drew a blank with both Rub, Francesca, not being there that day and Rachel Reid, who was unavailable because of the holidays. It is so easy to forget that a lot of the ladies in this industry are working mums and holidays are just a pain in the neck for them, making it difficult to work, let alone consider spending money on advertising, with kids at home etc., etc.

I did have some better luck with Bubbles Spa 2, in Bath St., where I was able to persuade Georgie to go ahead with two more months advertising, before I headed off to Mansfield, to put some books into a Simply Pleasure, I had not previously supplied. The shop there was in the middle of a vexacious one way system, but I finally worked it out and managed to park not too far from the shop, where I made a reasonable sale.
