A day in North Bucks and Bedford
One of the last areas of the country I had yet to visit was the north of Buckinghamshire, i.e. Aylesbury and Milton Keynes and the town of Bedford. I rang around to alert most of the establishments that I was coming to see them and set out at 9 o'clock.
I got to Aylesbury about 11.30 and was disappointed to not find the boss, Amy at Supremes, a basic but very friendly parlour located over a shop in Bedgrove, probably as downmarket a corner of this county town as you can find. This lady in her forties had surprisingly found herself pregnant last year and has been finding the job of taking care of an infant somewhat of a strain and was needing to have a rest this morning. Her colleagues bought some books off me and I headed off to Milton Keynes.
Here I first visited Shadows, a parlour with a decidedly corrective bent. I had a very pleasant chat with Madam Kat, but was unable to persuade her to buy any books. From here I ventured over to the town's principle sex shop and left them some of my new books, before I thought I might check out Cheryl, an individual working lady who has been promising me a session for some time. When I got there I discovered she had not totally understood the reason for my phone call and had another appointment shortly. I sold her some books and told her I would hopefully catch up with her noted oral prowess next time I was in the town.

I now headed into Central Milton Keynes and its three top establishments, Madam Becky's Kittens and the two Houses of Divine. When I got to Madam Becky's Kittens, I found Madam Becky was on holiday and the lady running the place in her absence was not in the position where she felt she could buy any books. I was not having a particularly successful day and when I got over to House of Divine, one of the busiest private flats around anywhere, my luck hardly improved much, with the couple who ran the operation only just back from a holiday themselves and otherwise occupied. I just sold two girls a book, one at each "House of Divine".

All I had left to check out in Milton Keynes was the new private house that had opened - Playgirls Mansion. I had rung them the day before and they had told me the postcode. On checking on the Post Office website before I left, I discovered this postcode related to a single address, and when I got to the road, I saw one house, but I could not see the appropriate number on it. I had by now driven into the property, but before ringing the bell, I decided to phone them and check I was at the right place. As they answered I suddenly realised a gentleman was standing by my car, looking at me quizzically, obviously the owner of the property. He seemed the sort of chap who might run such an establishment, so abruptly terminating my phonecall, I asked him if this was the Playgirls Mansion. He was obviously surprised by my question, but hardly nonplussed and after explaining my reason for visiting the establishment, I gave him a signed book as a token of my regret at inadvertently trespassing on his property. He was obviously delighted and having ascertained that the property was just a few yards down the road on the other side, I went over to it.
Playgirls Mansion is a delight, with a lovely selection of ladies and several themed rooms, one has a pole for pole dancing and in the cellar they have plans for a dungeon. I sold them a few books and got a photo of three of the ladies in their master suite. Interestingly, one had been working down in Cornwall at Dominique's place in Par.

As I was about to set off for Bedford, I got a phone call from a new lady at Renegade Pictures, the production company who had been contracted by Channel 4 to come up with some programmes on the industry, that Channel 4 were intent on making a series of shortly. This was the third or fourth person I had spoken to at Renegade, since my visit to them in Soho back in Fenruary and I now began to realise what they were after. In short they were looking for working ladies and their customers who would go public on Channel 4 showing their faces and telling the country what they do. I explained that there were a few women who were prepared to be candid about their work, but trying to find any customers was akin to asking men in the 1950's to admit they were practising homosexuals and while I was prepared to be candid about my occupation, this was my way of making a living and nearly all the men who visit working ladies have reputations and/or livelihoods that would be affected by their behaviour were it made public. I pointed out the problems currently had by Max Mosley and the fact that the wife of Sir Alan Greene, the director of public prosecutions, who was cautioned for kerb crawling in King's Cross some years ago, had gone on to commit suicide. I told her I would try and find some ladies who would be prepared to appear of the programme and talk openly, but pointed out in our hypocritical society, this was not going to be easy and for men it was going to be extremely difficult, particularly when the government had recently been considering making it a crime for men to pay for sex.
I now headed off to Bedford and Tavistock Street and after calling in at the Sex Shop, Erotica and leaving them some books, I briefly visited Genevieve's, where there is no longer a receptionist and where the lady I saw, an attractive East European, did not even know who the boss was. Unfortunately it would appear that this parlour, once the best in the town is now going decdedly downhill. From here I popped across the road to Intimate Massage and sold them some books, the boss showing me their new website.

I had planned on visiting Suzanna, a lady who wanted to show me how good she was at her work, but by now I was getting tired and I still wanted to pop into Victoria House in Lutterworth, where they needed some more books. So I set off to Lutterworth and having got there and done that I headed home.
